INTERVIEWS
Have you ever played poker? It is down to you and the person across the table from you. Each of you has a very large stack of chips in front you and five cards in your hand. So you ask yourself, “do I bet large and walk away a winner or do I check and let him make the first move?” This is very similar to conducting an interview. The trick is to give enough to get the information you need without tipping your hand.
We will interview anyone that may have information about a particular matter. At the conclusion of the interview, we will document the information obtained with an Interview Digest. We also have available blank affidavits so if the interviewee is willing, we can ask them to make a statement in their own hand writing. All of our investigators are Notary Publics and will notarize the statement on sight. In special situations we can also audio or video tape the interview for later use.
SIGHT SURVEYS
Using digital state of the art equipment, we can visit the sight of interest and obtain photographs and/or video. All photographs and video are date/time stamped. The report of the sight survey will include the type of equipment used to obtain the photographs and/or video, date and time they were obtained, weather conditions on the day of capture, description of each photograph obtained and any additional information that is unique to that sight.
We can also measure, document and sketch a schematic of the scene. Many of our schematics have been used for demonstrations in accident reconstructions, assaults and DUI cases. This combined with our photographs and videos make very impressive evidence.
SKIP TRACING
Skip tracing is the industry term for finding someone who has moved, gone missing or does not want to be found. With the emergence of the internet, information brokers and databases, skip tracing has become much easier. The key to skip tracing is getting the right pieces of information to start with. We think of it like an algebraic equation, A + B + C = D. With the right pieces of information we can plug them into the equation and get their current whereabouts. With as little as a name, date of birth or address, we can most likely find where someone lives.
After we get an address, we will attempt to confirm the information. We will check the ownership of the address, phone registration and if there are any other people at that address with ties to the subject. If that doesn’t work, we then resort to the ol’ gumshoe approach. We will contact neighbors, former employers, friends and family.
